Research: Performed research focused on understanding the role of protein tyrosine phosphatase non-recetpor type 11 (PTPN11) mutations in AML.  Publications in Cancers and Blood Advances.

Alissa Campbell Goss, MD, PhD

PhD Mentor: Anna Greka, M.D., Ph.D.

Research:  Studied the role of a family of cargo receptors (TMED receptors) in the accumulation of mutant misfolded cargoes in the early secretory pathway with a focus on the handling of mutant proteins in rare, genetically-defined human proteinopathies. Publications in Science Advances and 1st author paper under revision at Cell.

Dalton Banh, MD, PhD

PhD Mentor: Luciano Marraffini

Research:  He studied how CRISPR-Cas modulates the transfer of mobile genetic elements encoding virulence factors in S. Aureus.  He also characterized a bacterial homolog to human cGAS and discovered that it senses structured phage RNA to allow bacteria to recognize viral infection. Publications in Nature, Immunity and under review at Cell Host & Microbe.
